Street Style Project
THE BRIEF
Having seen the result of the Freedom and Wallpaper Projects ASOS have been inspired to reach out to the Beta community to develop prints for their own brand collections. Looking forward to Spring/Summer 2012 they’re on the hunt for artworks to be used on a range of jersey pieces including t-shirts, dresses & leggings. The theme from which they would like you to work is ‘Street Style’. For inspiration look to the movements of graffiti, modern street art, the 90’s rave scene and how these worlds have shaped modern pop culture

Prints can either be for t-shirt placement, or for all over use, and should be suitable for screen & digital printing with no more than 8 unique colours. For t-shirt designs we will provide a download CAD pack to help you represent your design. This will be available upon project start date.
ASOS are looking for up to 3 designs, each of which will receive £300 prize money. The project will run from this Wednesday the 14th of September through to midnight on the 30th of September.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Create your Design
Designs may be created by any method you wish. Feel free to experiment with drawing, painting, photography, or digital media. Keep in mind that the designs you submit onto the website are for presentation purposes only. If your design is selected as a winner you will be required to send us the full resolution versions of your designs which must be suitable for printing at a scale of at least 1 metre square or larger, or in the case of t-shirt placement prints, at the scale represented in your CAD. If the full resolution file cannot be printed clearly at this scale your design will be withdrawn. If you are using a raster programme such as Photoshop you must create your design in actual size of at least 300dpi. If you submit a design that appears to be a repeat we will expect it to be a true repeat unless stated otherwise by you.Submit your Designs
Starting from the 14th of September you will be able to submit your designs directly on Betafashion.com. Your submission must be comprised of 1 main image, 1 small thumbnail image, and up to 3 additional details images. Additional details images may include CAD representations of close up details. Main image files must be up to 900X900 pixels and no smaller than 700X700 pixels, submitted as either JPEG of GIF's. Small thumbnail images must be a 150X150 pixel JPEG or GIF to be displayed in the designs gallery preview pages. As well as the images you are also required to give your design a name and description. Remember, from the moment your submission is published on the site it is your opportunity to start promoting it, so a good name and description are essential. Outside viewers may also be interested to read more about your background so make sure you put thought into your user profile description.Reasons For Decline
Original WorkSubmitted designs must be your original work and must not have been previously used commercially. For more information on the legal terms and conditions of design submission please click here
Missing Files
If any of the submission files are missing or are of the wrong dimensions we may request you send them to us. If you fail to provide them then your submission will be rejected.
Submission needs work
We may feel that some submissions are not of a high enough standard to have a realistic chance of winning a competition. In this event we may decline entry and request that it is given more time and work to get it up to standard.
